The CD-R's that I have on hand now (I assume I used them as the pile is
about 2/3's gone) are 700 mb.  I don't remember the size of the largest disk
and can't check as I've given the Panther Installation away as I got 10.3.5
install CD's with all of my latest Mac acquisitions and didn't see the need
to keep it.
Sorry I can't be of more help.  But, Toast has always been much easier to
use than the OS X native disk copy 'software'.  You can even make .iso type
CDs easily....without having to fiddle around and guessing (created lots of
coasters that way).
