Hi all, Last week I noticed that my new Viewsonic 20" LCD monitor had a white pixel. I had purchased the 2 year replacement plan, so I took it back to CompUSA, and returned it. They gave me a new one, which also had a purple pixel in a different place. I took that back, and they couldn't show me one without a dead pixel of some sort in the display.
>From the resources I have read, this is a quality control issue, and certainly >isn't an acceptable defect. I know some people just grin and bear it, but I >think for the price I should expect top quality. I eventually was able to >return the monitor and buy an Apple 20" Cinema Display, which I had looked at >in the store and could detect no dead pixels anywhere under any screen color. Since I went through 6 monitors, one of them a Samsung, it left me wondering. Are dead pixels just a fact of life for LCDs? TIA, Lavode -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
