Have you tried the "Restart in DOS mode" selection under the "Shutdown" start menu setting -- this should boot it in DOS 7.1. Install DOS on it (as a dual boot with Win98 if you need that too). You can use a KVM to share your monitor with it (probably you'll want to have separate keyboards and mice though, which isn't too big a deal).
