(Startup Disk absolutly will not work. ) Then if you want 9 you hold down the option key after the chime. You can also use XPostFActo to do this for you, though it isn't necessary on a Beige for Jaguar. XPostFacto is required for using Panther on Beige. Don't be discouraged.
