Your DayStar sounds like a beautiful system. Does it have quad 604s? I have
to say Id love to have it. I got a free 9500 about 6 years ago maybe. It
was labeled "bad power supply" So, I took it home, bought a power supply off
eBay for $90 (what a deal it was), hooked it up, and there was a flash of light
in the power supply, and no power after that. Im sure it was something
stupid. But I sold that system cheap after that with the power supply. I kept the
large fan from the original power supply though. I think Im about to inherit
a 7300 though, its no Tsunami but its just as fast (right?).
I have three of the Daystar Genesis boxes and one Millennium. The three
Genesis are two Quad 604 132 (528MP) and one Quad 604e (MP800+). The
Millennium has it's original 325mhz G3 card. At this moment one of the
Genesis has 1.5gb of ram, a Sonnett G4-800 card and a Sonnett Trio IDE
card installed and is running MacOS 10.2.8. It has about 300gb of drive
space. Genesis MP528 #2 has a G3-500 card installed and is running
MacOS 9.2. The Millennium runs 8.1, 8.6 and 9.1 multiboot. The MP800
runs BeOS R5.03 Pro, 7.6 and 8.1 multiboot. All have CD burners
installed as well.
