Does anyone remember that? Is there anything like that available these days?
yes, two things: Basilisk, a Mac OS emulator, and PearPC, a PPC
emulator on which you can load OS X and OS 9 (iirc in the case of OS 9)
That way you can find out just how GOOD VPC is...PearPC+OS X runs like
a 60MHz PPC on a 2 Ghz intel...
Anybody here ever run Mac-on-Linux on OS X?
Why would you want to?
There are better mac on mac emulators if you need to pretend that you're a Mac plus or something, and Classic is far better than MOL...
Classic only runs 9.2 - it won't me run any other version. I want to run OS X, OS 8, and Linux inside OS X, and Classic won't do that. And yeah, I use Basilisk and vMac for my 68040 & 68000 emulation needs.
or is this just a S&G sort of thing?
Mostly, yeah. It's for my play machine. Emulators, operating systems, and networks are the things that fascinate me most about computers.
