You might want to download the trial version of Sound Studio from Felt Tip Software http://www.felttip.com/products/soundstudio/ and use it to join the pieces together. Sound Studio is useful for doing and fixing all sorts of things with captured audio. In fact I just bring my vinyl straight into Sound Studio (from the turntable through a Griffin iMic) and deal with it there.
