No, but thanks for your response. I want to keep the DVD-R drive from opening up on startup. Every time that I boot my machine, the DVD-R drives opens up. I want to know if someone has had a similar issue and if they were able to fix it.
Check for any startup items that might be trying to access a CD-ROM. Usually though they do put up a message about what CD-ROM to insert.
