I have just installed a $15 D-Link Ethernet PCI adapter. After installing the extensions and running it through my $20 hub, everything is finally working! I did not have to do anything except choose Ethernet C1 (slot I used for the new card) in the apple talk dialog and everything showed up in the chooser - then I configured and was on my way. I am a happy camper! I have no idea why I could not use my original installed ethernet port. All I know is that it was not the cables or hub or anything else. My original ethernet port was dead for some reason; and it stayed dead after I did a re-install of my OS9. The OS9 is a disk that I bought from Apple. It is generic. I upgraded to 9.1 and then 9.2 from Apple support online. For mine and everyone else's education, I would appreciate it if you could send me the extensions you mentioned so I can see if they work. I will report back of course. I just now checked by going to Apple profile, extensions, and could not see them. By the way, it is awesome to print with this Xerox Phaser printer.
