Thanks to all for the input. I drove all of the three miles to the local OfficeMax to pickup the monitor today. The local OfficeMax monitor display room was a horror. Even their high priced LCD's had moire patterns in the demo's. No surprise they still had plenty of $80 sale monitors still in stock. The sales guy informed me it did have a VGA connector but warned me it was only PC compatible -- really didn't want to get into an argument, so I took the $80 sale bait and bought the monitor. Plugging it into old world 7500 with straight VGA to Mac adapter (no dials or dip switches) it performed, well like a new monitor should--clear and sharp. Tomorrow is the real test when I connect it to great old man's Beige G3. It will definitely make his old monitor "look like cr*p." So far I'm satisfied. It may not keep the quality it has now many years (like my 21" 1991 Radius with a Trinitron CRT I still using) but for $70 ($80 minus a $10 coupon) us beggars are doing OK.
