If I should close the case the sound its almost unnoticeable. I've heard PC drives (like the IBM Aptiva A40 drive), anyone remember those things? As compact as they were for their time (3.5"x 1" high) they were so noisy, the normal operating sound of the drive when it was reading/writing would sound like a little man was using a jackhammer in there. The computer was in the room right on top of the stairs, if you went to the living room downstairs, you could hear it, no kidding. Well, I must be honest with you, I'd rather keep this "big" baby in my G3 beige. Anyone knows of a dirt cheap source for IDE harddrives? Or SCSI-2 Wide? Oh, they must be half height no SCA please!
