Hi,

I'm a bit new here, so I am not really sure what goes with Macs - I've been
running GatesWare, and Linux, so Mac is a bit of an exploration/learning
curve ...

It seems that my Beige G3 no longer recognizes my 24x CD Drive. I have a
work around that I am using a SCSI Cd, but I'd like to get a normal ATAPI
CD-RW to work and wondered if anybody can help :-)

I should mention that I started with an 8100/80, then (in fairly quick
succession - aka 31/2 months) went through a 6360/160, then a 6500/275, then
an 8500/180 and now the Beige G3 ...

Thanks to replies from Kris, Alex and Richard - the forgotten info is:

Beige G3, Rev 2, 128 Mb RAM, 2 Mb VRAM (original), SCSI Zip Drive
(original), LG 52x24x52 CD-RW, and of course OS 9.2.2.

What happened was that I tried to load OS-X and then my 24x "died" and is no
longer recognized by Apple Profiler.

I've looked at the Dantz page and the xlr8 page, and I have no idea what an
LGCDR is and I don't know enuff about playing with the Extension Manager.

I've forked out Au$ 290.00 so far - should I just go and buy a G4 for Au$595
???
