My husband says it was Wosniak in a Cessna 210, single engine, pressurized. He thinks it was in the 80s.

Sounds about right to me, as I remember it. Like I said, the publication in which I read this, called Aviation Safety, I think, simply reported that the pilot was "the founder of Apple" (or maybe "a founder of Apple"), so I thought it was Jobs, but anyway the lesson it drew from the incident was that overconfidence (if not arrogance, because the article led one to believe that the pilot was unrepentant) is not dangerous in most arenas but often fatal when mixed up with aircraft. The pilot had a license to fly a single-engine airplane, so he apparently figured that an extra engine or so would be no big deal, and skipped taking any multiengine instruction. If I remember right, he totaled the airplane on either takeoff or landing, running through an airport boundary fence, but he and everyone else in the airplane suffered only minor injuries. They were extremely lucky.

I wonder who the idiots were who got into the airplane with him. Or maybe they simply didn't know that he was unqualified to fly multiengine aircraft.
