I use a mouse around 9 hours a day and have gone through many. Currently I use a Logitech USB TrackMan Wheel mouse for my right hand. But I also use a Kesington Tubo Mouse for my left hand. I work in Illustrator much of the time and find using 2 mice to be beneficial.
When I use my iBook, I only attach 1 mouse so I use a Macally trackball. But I dont see this mouse in their product offering any longer. Both of these mice, TrackMan & Macally have both the trackball and scroll wheel. Ive tried many and although the learning curve is a factor, a tack ball is better than a wheel. If you get both, more the better. Ive got a few Kensington Turbo Mouse and like them a lot. But I did started getting a Carpal Tunnel symptom buy using this mouse. So I switched it (Kensington Turbo Mouse) to my left hand and started using the TranckMan Wheel (on the right) and havent had a problem since.
