Hi all,

I installed 9.2.2 on my SCSI hard drive (1 Gb) then booted into that and
used it to format my 40 Gb IDE into 8 Gb (as OS X), and 31 Gb (as Classic).
Then I clean installed (but not fomatted) OS X onto the 8 Gb partition.
After restart I removed the 1 Gb SCSI, and then poked around in OS X for a
while (please remember - I'm relatively new to Macs!) and then thought -
whoa! where are my apps ...

I then rebooted using the 9.2.2 CD to load this into the Classic partition.

So now I have OS X in the OSX partition, and 9.2.2 in the Classic partition,
and they seem to co-exist and work quite happily. I can still boot into
9.2.2 when I need to, or OS X if I want.

However, during the 9.2.2 install from the CD, it showed a message on the
screen PRIOR to the software being loaded that it was updating the Classic
partition with the 9.2.2 drivers!

... I hope that this may help
