Will a digital Audio processor work in a sawtooth? Or is there a way to get
it to work?
Yes, just plug it in. The Sawtooth, Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Audio and with some restrictions, the Cube all use the same daughter card.
There are 2 issues here.
The DA processor runs at 133MHz and the sawtooth runs at 100 MHz. So a 533 DA processor (4x133) would run at 400 (4x100) in a sawtooth.
The other issue is that when the Digital Audios came out, one of the comments was that you could not put the 733 or 667 processor into a 533 or 466 machine. I BELIEVE that the 733 and 667s use a 4 post mounting setup, which adds 12v on the forth post, like the Quicksilvers. I put a QS 933 in my DA and had to tap into a drive power adapter to get the 12v to get the processor to work. So I was able to get a QS 933 off the swap list for 165 instead of 295, iirc, at the time for an equivalent from OWC and upgrade my DA.
