I was just wondering how much cash you are putting into this and whether it
might be more economical to get a higher level system or look at the mac
mini.

I know my beige experience was to create a computer that would match the
capabilities of my clamshell blueberry ibook. 

I spent in total about $110 dollars and I ended up with 2 working beiges.
One system in perfect and the other has a flakey video card which is fine as
long as it is not moved. So I felt my money was well spent but as soon as I
looked at processor upgrade cards or video cards, everything was out of my
price range.
