Figuring this is the best place to ask these questions, as I can't find any

1) I put a firewire card in my G3 Minitower and it sees it fine. While in
there, I see the internal firewire port. Found a cable that fits in there
and plugged it in. Now I have a firewire cable sticking out of the case (I
don't care, never put the cover on anyway). What is the true purpose of that
internal port?
2) Also took a picture of the "stuff" on the "personality sound card." Can
anyone tell me what all those empty slots are? I'm really curious about that
weird looking black one to the left behind the "AIO" white one in front. I

Revision 45F1 2 MB video ram (I use an ATI Rage 128 video card) I have a G4 800 mhz upgrade installed, running 9.2.2, 448 mb ram

I'm not totally sure myself Deb, but one of them, perhaps the weird looking one with the arms sticking up is for the internal modem. This question came up once before about all of the various sockets on the A/V card as it has even more than your sound card.
