Netscape *is* Mozilla with a different skin, initial settings and few more things, like AIM. It has been since Netscape 6.0.
Mozilla 1.7.5 is 45 mb on disk, Netscape 7.2 is 52 Mb. That's not a lot of 'bloat'.
Perhaps you're thinking of Firefox versus Netscape.
