This isn't a definitive answer but just my experience with a Beige G3 MT. I had
all
PCI slots full (100BaseT ethernet, 8 meg video card and Firewire card), two hard
drives and the CD-ROM. After putting in the second hard drive I experienced
intermittent boot problems. I played around with it and found that if I pulled
out
the video card that it would once again boot reliably. This suggests to me that
it
was a power issue. I am not sure if I reached the limit of the PS or if the PS
is
going out? Maybe other could shed light on that.

Personally I would love to put a more robust power supply in and to see if that
would give the old Beige some new life. If anyone knows of any place where I
could
get a robust power supply that would fit into the unmodified Beige box I would
appreciate the info.

Also Thanx Bruce for the info on the Sawtooth drive size.
