Now: the Outlook Express Identities folder, yes I have that. When I launch OE 5.0.6 in Classic the identities do not appear, but the folder does exist. I was very careful to back that up. Is there a later version of OE that I might have been using unbeknownst to me?
Also, as far as Safari goes, it will not run in any account on the machine, including Admin. I try to launch it from the Dock, and from the applications folder, same thing...nothing happens. I'm unwilling to remove the preferences stuff until I know that's the issue, since it won't run anywhere.
My thanks again. Sorry to be so tiresome.
