I suppose that some of you don't use SCSI Zip drives anymore, but I venture
that there are enough to warrant this message.
I have experienced the "click of death" a few times and heard about it a lot
more times. Google it, and you will find several people detailing "fixes"
that usually involve taking the Zip apart and bending something, which I
admit I have tried with no success.
Recently I bought what I thought was a faulty Zip on ebay and complained and
the seller was kind enough to send a pdf from Zip that suggested that it was
the power supply. I had tested the Zip using the old power supply and it
clicked and did not work.

When I used the new power supply, the click went away. I don't know about
you, but I thought this was worth sharing with this forum. I must have
thrown away at least three Zips in the past, when all I probably needed to
do was get a new power supply.
