Hello all, I have a very strange issue to report (at
least very strange to me). This will be a very long
post, just to warn you!

Last night I went to my mother-inlaws house to download some more files. I did this an dloaded them on my JumpDrive. When I got home last night, I put the JumpDrive in my machine and booted it up. TO my dismay again, the mac locked on on the Mac OS 9.1 boot screen, just before the extensions started to load. The progress was at about 1/4" on my monitor at 1024x768. No extensions had loaded yet. Frustrated, I restarted the machine with extenisions off and it locked at the same point (this time I can no longer move the mouse pointer). Removing the Drive and rebooting results in a correct boot with no problems. It still does the same thing if I try to attach the drive while the machine is already running.

I am new around here...Hi! It sounds to me like it maybe is getting stuck on the 9.2.2 updates you had on the jumpdrive. Did you have UPDATES on it or the actual system that you transferred over? If you moved a system, etc. over then it is looking for that system to boot up with.

If you just had the file updates I don't know what is causing it, but that flashed through my mind as I was reading your note.

I will be answering things as I know answers. I have had a Mac since 1997 - my FIRST computer! I had a Performa 6360 and then went to a G3 iMac Indigo. Just retired it with a new G5 iMac 17". This is my first venture into OS X...it is a bumpy ride, but I like the new interface!
