Because the people on the G-list are such an inventive lot (are you listening Larry?), I've decided to seek advice on my latest project. What I did was to buy an old Magnavox console stereo on Ebay tonight with the intention of converting it to an MP3 jukebox for my game room. What I need are ideas on how best to accomplish this goal. I would like to be able to either select songs for playback from either a screen or list by perhaps a keyboard combo (similar to the old style jukeboxes), such as B-17, etc. Also I would like to be able to play random songs according to genre or date. I thought about using an iPod, but I really would rather have a larger screen to view. At this point it's not much more than a pipe dream, but I'm sure someone will come up with a suggestion that will set the gears in motion! Please respond off-list, thanks for listening.

In my home theatre/music future, I envision a Mac mini connected to my TV set via s-video, and utilizing a Bluetooth keyboard & mouse to control it. The mini will run iTunes, and the mini will have its analog audio output connected to my amplifier's L & R inputs.
That might not work for your setup, but it's what I see for my own.
