Youre not losing the conversation, you just have more to learn about the 
architecture of computers.  The Sawtooth has a 100MHz bus, which is 128 bits 
wide. 
 The PCI slots are 33MHz, and 64 bits wide.  The IDE interface is 66MB/s.  
They have nothing to do with each other.  Only memory has any relationship with 
bus speed (and usually the processor).  To put thins into perspective, the 
main bus can theoretically do 1.6GB/s, and the PCI 264MB/s.  Remember, the 
onboard IDE is only 66MB/s.
