I'm surprised nobody talked about this problem yet here. It seems that the VGA output is below the VESA standards meaning that some conventional analog VGA CRT monitors have dim video. Only happens to analog monitors since LCDs w/DVI are digital. See here: http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/feedback/mac_mini_dim_video.html Has anyone of you also noticed similar behaviour?
