Subject: Mac G4 HD into a PC
Hello. I suppose this is OT. But Id like to know if the harddrives
that come with Apples are generally compatible with PCs. I have a nice
PC harddrive that I plan on putting in a Mac to replace its ATA drive,
and I am also building a PC. So I was wondering if the spare drive will
work in a PC. Also, anyone know where I can find info on the harddrives
that came with the G4s? Id like to know the specs on these
Thanks
chris

Yes the hard drive will work in a PC. As far as the drive specs you
will have to get the manufacturer and model number either from the label
on the drive itself, or from System Profiler (in X, I can't remember
where in 9). For example my (non original) drive shows up in System
Profiler as "WDC - WD1000BB", which is a Western Digital model WD1000BB
100GB drive. Then go to the manufacturer's website and look that model
up in the specifications database.
