Is it possible to transform a QS 800 single processor into a dual?

And if so, what it would involv?

The motherboards are the same for a single and dual processor system. The only difference is in the processor card that plugs into the motherboard.

A processor card from a dual processor QS should work, or you can buy a new dual card for your Mac.

Before you spend too much on a dual card, carefully consider what a new Mac costs. A refurb dual 1.8 G5 is 1699 and a 1.8 single is 1299 at the Apple store. With dual processors for your QS going for 500-700 at OWC plus the sales value of your QS gets you pretty close to the single 1.8 G5.
