How can you get 10.3 that is xpostfacto'ed on to a Beige G3 to recognize the serial ports? We want to use the old LaserWriter, and therefore run AppleTalk over the serial port instead of ethernet.
There must be some shareware or similar that can do this? As 10.2 WAS supported for the Beige, would it work there?
I am not sure how you do it with xpostfacto, but the drivers for the Apple LaserWriters are already there in OSX. I still use our LaserWriter 16/600 from several machines running OS 10.2 & 10.3
The LaserWriter is hooked up to our Asante Router's parallel printer port. (The LW has a parallel port too) I suspect you can probably make it work with a parallel to ethernet cable as well, but I have not tried that. Have you tried using the ethernet port on the printer? You need one of those dongle things to connect a standard ethernet cable.
