I thought the blanked-out PayPal problem was unique to me: it started about
the time eBay took PayPal over, I think: for a while the site looked normal,
but wouldn't let me log on (the telephone help desk said to ditch all
cookies, which didn't help at all); now it loads almost completely blank,
there's a banner and nothing else, not even a link to the above-mentioned
helpline.

On the other hand eBay itself looks and works normally, though slowly, which
I've assumed was the fault of a slow dialup connection -- 56K modem never
connects faster than 28.8.

OS 8.6, IE 5.1.

It's a big nuisance; I've bought quite a bit of new computer gear lately and
had to send check or MO, then wait for what seemed like a long time for
delivery. There's a little spare change in my PayPal acct, too.

Does anybody know how to fix this problem?

Best,
Victoria
