Hello, I'm looking at used computers on ebay. What is the difference between Panther 10.3 and Panther Server 10.3?
Panther Server is the, well, server version of Panther and is not well-suited for workstation use. It's designed to be a file server, mail server, web server, etc for networked client systems.
If a computer comes with a Super Drive (4X), does that mean I can burn disks?
Yes, CDR, CDRW, and DVD-R and DVD-RW. (note that while there's only one each of CDR and RW there are two varieties of recordable DVD -R, -RW and +R, +RW. they're different standards and the 4x Superdrive will not use the + variety.)
The 4X, btw, refers to the speed at which it burns DVD-R disks, it burns CD-R's at, iirc, 16X.
