I could give you a step by step in Classic, but only set up a connection once in X, on somebody else's computer, so don't recall all the details -- but basically just make sure filesharing is on in the old computer, and doublecheck the user name that you assigned to it, hook up the monitor to the B&W and set it up for filesharing, attach an ethernet cable to both machines, log into the old one (now headless) using X's equivalent of the Classic Chooser, and transfer away.
