I was looking for an inexpensive video cam for chatting with the family and I could not find any with Mac support for less than $80.00
I did try once the Ice cam but its flaky and very unreliable. I've seen some from Logited that look not too bad but support Windows only. Do any one knows if there are drivers to make them work on Macs? Do any of you have some recommendations? I think up to $50.00 would be acceptable if it performs OK.
Macam <http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net/> is an open source driver for a number of USB cameras, and IOXperts <http://www.ioxperts.com/> sell web cam drivers, again, for a variety of them.
For iChat, you can also use any iMovie-compatible DV video camera, as well, afaik; if you've got one you can press it into double duty.
