I had this problem recently when upgrading from my B&W's G3 350 to a Sonnet G4/1 GHz... Sonnet's tech support sent me a *BETA* version installer that worked (applied the patch) when the version I downloaded from their site wouldn't do it.
Let me know if nothing else works for you and I'll send you the file. It's worth a try, right?
Don't do what I did when installing my G4! I bent a pin on the ZIF connector. When trying to straighten it, I broke it off. A dead G3 ZIF later, and I'd soldered in a new pin. Anyway, those ZIF slots might seem like they work easily, but the connectors are still extremely fragile!
