I was thinking about buying four sticks of 128MB RAM from Otherworld:

128MB PC133 CL3 168 Pin SDRam for All Apple PowerMac G3, PowerMac G4, G4 Cube, iMac 350-700MHz. Lifetime Warranty!

But Everymac only lists PC100 sticks as usable.

What's the deal with two different types listed as usable? Is the PC133 faster than the PC100?

Tim,

A) 133 is faster than 100, which is faster than 66, but is usually backward compatible. If OWC says it is compatible, well, they stand behind what they sell. That is one of the advantages of buying from a known vendor

However:

B) 18004memory.com has 256meg sticks for your B&W for $31.00 each:

if you cannot get that link to work, just go to 18004memory.com and follow the links.

The difference between the ram is the bus speed:
pc133 is for 133 MHz busses, (used on Digital Audio and Quicksilver Macs) which is faster than:
pc100, which is for 100MHz busses (used for GigaBit Ethernet, Sawtooth, Yikes and B&W) which is faster than:
pc66 which is for 66MHz busses (used in beige G3s)

Len
