The slowpoke drive controllers on the Beige mobo are a much bigger bottleneck than the 66 MHz system bus speed. IMHO installing a drive controller card is the most sensible upgrade, other than a faster ZIF of course. Even an ATA/66 will provide a noticeable improvement in performance. I'm very pleased with the VST Ultra/66 and 7200 RPM Maxtor I have in my AIO.
