That's the memory test. Yep. Except perhaps in some unusual
circumstance, with OS X there is no need to shut down your computer
anyway, so it's not a big deal. Use sleep and you will be super happy.
:) Way, way faster to wake from sleep then to boot, with or without the
memory test.

9.x.x....but the Mini can't boot 9.x.x! Is there a [firmware] hack to
disable startup memory tests? It only happens after a cold boot...not
after a resart.
