Anybody know how to turn off Outlook Express 5.x showing images in HTML mail
I get? I went to the Preferences dialogs and all I can see is "Show attached
pictures in messages" in the "Display" tab, which isn't what I'm looking
for; that turns on & off display of pictures sent as attachments.

Thr reason is: I've heard that some spammers set their servers to grab the
domain & user info that the HTTP protocal sends when Outlook accessses an
image link, thus confirming that you are a real address. I don't usually
open things I think are obviously spam, but more & more spam seems to be
getting through my ISP's filters, & sometimes I open things inadvertently
(especially when I delete the messages I've read, & Outlook automatically
jumps to the next one -- another strike against it!)

I'd dump OE in a heartbeat, & use Mozilla or something, but I can't figure
how to export & import my mail (& I have a lot now) already saved in OE
format.

TIA,
