Yes it is quite easy to upgrade the speed of the processor.  Last time I 
checked a 1GHz G4 upgrade was $400 (probably not really worth it), though it 
could 
be less now.  The best deals are on 350 through 450MHz G3 ZIFs.  I got a 
350MHz ZIF well over a year ago for thirty five dollars.  You MAY be able to 
get a 
450MHz ZIF for that price now.  You will have to change your jumper settings 
but that is easy just email the list when you have gotten the processor.  And 
make sure the processor is a ZIF.
