Spotlight is an obvious major improvement. The improvements to Mail and
Safari will be nice, especially Mail. Lots of improvements under the
hood. Hopefully performance improvements even for old hardware, but we
shall see. The 64-bit stuff is lost not only on older hardware, but for
the vast, vast majority of users even on new hardware. It's totally
over-hyped, though not really by Apple - they've been pretty low-key
about it IMHO, and for good reason. People like bigger numbers and 64
is bigger than 32. Woohoo! 64-bit does not mean faster performance at
all, indeed just the opposite (yep, slower) unless your app is in that
rare category that needs to address more than 4 GB or memory at once.
It's not something you'll see any benefit from and you'll be glad your
apps don't use it.
