Hi, long story but here goes, g3 233 128meg 4 gig hd, had os 9.1 running well (should have left it alone) I installed OSX 10.2.4 straight over the top, it appears to be working fine, when asked to enter admin password I decline by hitting the X button (snip)

If you have OS 9.1 and OS X (new install) running now, why do you need/want to wipe the system? You would be starting over from scratch and reinstalling both after wiping the drive. All you need is to add/change an admin password which you should be able to accomplish with your OS X install disk. I have never used this feature but just check the menu choices after booting with the X installer CD. It should let you add or change the admin password.

If you want to start with a clean freshly wiped drive and reinstall the OS, there are several utility apps that will wipe a drive. I use Tech Tool Pro. Your 4 GB drive is quite small for running both OS 9 and OS X unless you don't plan on installing a lot of applications. You can also do a custom OS X install and leave out the uneeded localized language files and printer drivers to save space, rather than removing them later with Delocalizer.
