I'm using Ircle 3.1.2 on my Beige G3 333 running 9.2.2, and connecting to irc.undernet.org (which I think automatically redirects you to the "best" undernet server) just fine. Is that the undernet server you're using?
You haven't changed internet service providers since the last time you were able to get on IRC, have you? I think I've seen IRC servers block whole ISPs because they were getting a lot of trouble from them, or maybe require an extra authentication procedure for users using one of those blacklisted ISPs.
The "Couldn't resolve your hostname" part makes it seem like the server maybe can't figure out what ISP you are using.
It's nowhere near as good as Ircle, but have you tried Undernet's web interface? it might hold you over until you get Ircle working:
