Hi *,
this is my first post, so please bear with me. I did read a *lot* of related documentation on how to get OS X to work on a G3/333 desktop but after fiddling with it for days, I wonder if I have a cursed machine or such... I am a complete Mac newbie but I have a lot of experience with other machines, such as PCs and Unix workstations. I got this mac because it seemed like the cheapest way to play with OS X but the installation is harder than getting NetBSD onto a 1990 decstation...
Okay, here's the summary:
G3/333 beige desktop, 6 GB IDE HD, original Sony/Apple CDROM, ZIP-Drive. The thing runs OS 8.1 right now, which is hardly usable.
I have tried to:
1. Just boot a 10.2 install CD by hitting "c" on startup, I only get a grey screen with a "NO" sign.
How much RAM do you have? Jaguar specs a minimum of 128Mb and it means it. I couldn't get the installer to run on 96Mb.
