Actually, this was discussed a bit not long ago.

As far as internal cards, just about any PCI card that uses a broadcom
chipset will work with the Apple airport software, or you can dig around
and find a card that has Mac OS 10 drivers from either the OEM of the card
or the chipset maker.

As far as the adaptor that plugs into the ethernet port, those bridges are
toasters as far as the Mac (or any machine) is concerned.  They don't
interact with them at all, all the Mac will see is data coming and going
out of the ethernet port.

So, which one to use depends on how much dosh you want to spend and how
easy you want it to be.  :-)
