<< Hi there, I have been toying with the idea of changing my G3AIO's stock 4GB
internal Hard Drive with a bigger one (say 40GB or more). However I really
don't want to go through the whole ordeal or reinstalling everything one by
one on the new hard drive (Mac OS X, the combo update, the security updates
and so on). In the olden days, you could set up a bunch of diskettes with
the whole contents of your hard drive (stuffed with stuffit) with the
installer on the first diskette along with the System file and some basic
fonts. Now however, with OS X, this is no longer possible. Or is it? Is
there a way to do this (with CDs instead of diskettes) using Mac OS X? That
way I would have a full back up of my hard drive on CDs, ready to install on
a virgin Hard Drive. Has anyone done this? Is there a way? >>

Take a look at CarbonCopyCloner. It will go directly from HD to HD or
you can create a disk image, burn to cd with Toast, & restore using CCC.
