momentum seems to be shifting over to PPC, what with the Xbox 360.
The printers here are all driven by PowerPC processors, that are
faster than the ones in our desktops! IBM and Moto are working hard
at putting PowerPC processors in a lot of devices, just like they did
with the 68k's. :)
Not to mention Cell technology. PPC future looks bright; I'm
actually getting excited.
The Cell processor. YUM. Built around the Power core! Can you say
Power Mac G6?! :)
And now for that spine tingling oooooooh:
A 2.30 GHz Dual PowerMac G5 clocks in at around 35 gigaflops.
One of my techie rags recently talked about a prototype 3.80 GHz dual
Cell blade running Linux clocking in at around 400 gigaflops; FCS
mid'2005.
Ahhh. The need, the need for speed.
