Depending on the actual value of "several" and whether you're likely to need to copy DD disks in the future, it might be worth it to get an older Mac and use it for copying files. My understanding of the matter is that, for whatever reason, the floppy drives in 68K Macs do a better job reading DD floppies than the drives in PowerMacs. Connect it to your newer machine with either Ethernet or LocalTalk (depending on what the two machines support). For a non-Mac option, an Apple IIGS will also read DD floppies (it won't handle HD floppies without a SuperDrive controller and drive) and will connect to a Mac over LocalTalk.
