Well Chris.. if you really wanna ponder sonething.. Over the last few years Apple has been branching out into more than just computer products ( mainly multimedia etc ).. And we all know that Hardware is a losing business.. so all of the old apple diehards will still run apple products (OS/Utils/etc) regardless of what the chip is..
Once an apple user always an apple user.. Hell I just picked up my first Apple IIgs on the weekend after all of these years.. talk about being hooked.. And if its cheaper hardware, more people will jump on the bandwagon.. And in todays day and age.. almost every development shop is running java or some sort of open source tool, which will may switch people too the new hardware as well.. Just look at how fast linux has taken off.. OSX is next..
