Sort of. On my laptop it will allow me to select 640x480. While it
is intended for use when connected to external displays such as
projectors or TVs, it does work with just the LCD at 640x480, I'm
using it as I type.
For the install it needs 800 x 600, or crucial parts of the interface
aren't available, though this may apply to 10.3, not 10.2.
Also, the monitor needs to support the frequency expected for the
video. Without knowing what the monitor supports, it's hard to tell.
Though, frankly, since you can pick up 17" monitors for a song theses
days I see no need to have a 12" one around anymore.

I gave up trying and hooked it up to a PC monitor I have nearby via a
switch. This is for my fileserver project and I don't really need to
view it except for troubleshooting purposes and to set it up. Thanks
guys.
