Hi Matt,
Thx for the info.....
I can understand that when 9.2.1 came out there probably were apps
that got broken, just like going from OS7->7.x or 8, or OS 8->8.x or
OS9 but I think the main difference is (at least now) any apps that
work in OS 9 will work fine with 9.2.1 or 9.2.2. People fixed their apps
unlike the old days ("Oh gee, you need to buy our new version!").
I went from OS 7.5.3 to 7.5.5 & things were fine but when I went to
8.1 most things broke (I'm still pissed about MegaPhone) :-(
Same when I went to 9.0.4. Since then it's been pretty painless
except, as you said, for MS apps. I seem to recall MSO 4.2.1 didn't
work above OS7 or 8 & MSO 98 didn't behave well above 9.1 (slow).

I've stayed at 9.2.2 for same reasons. I'm going to have to update
too many things going to X & will have to live with using Classic
or booting back to 9 for now. I just got a G4 Gig-E 450 DP & will use
it to learn OSX. I have 10.2.x for my Beige G3 but haven't installed
it & may go straight to 10.3 on the G4.

<< Bob,

I should've been more specific, about my beige G3 choking on OS 9.2.1.

When I upgraded, I found that quite a bit of my applications wouldn't

launch. I tried a disk utility that was the latest for the OS version,

to no avail, so I went back to OS 9.1 and have stayed there. I forget

which apps choked, specifically, but I do know that quite a few of them

were MS apps. I didn't have any hardware problems, for the short time I

used OS 9.2.1...just software problems.
